Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Chorio is built for families, which means we take your privacy — and your children's privacy — seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Chorio mobile app and the Chorio website at chorio-app.com.
Who we are
Chorio is operated by Arcstone Labs LLC, based in the United States. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at hello@chorio-app.com.
Children's privacy
Chorio is designed for families with children. A parent or guardian creates and controls the family account, adds their children, and manages all settings. Any information about a child in Chorio — such as a first name, a login PIN, points and rewards, or a photo submitted as proof a chore was completed — is entered and controlled by the parent or guardian, who provides consent on the child's behalf.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without verifiable parental consent, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We never show advertising to children, and we never sell any family member's data. A parent can review, update, or permanently delete their child's information at any time from within the app or by emailing us at hello@chorio-app.com.
What we collect
Account information:A parent's name, email address, and password when they create a family account.
Children's profiles: The first names, login PINs, and avatars parents set up for their children, along with in-app activity such as quests completed, points earned, streaks, and rewards redeemed.
Photos: If the optional photo-proof feature is used, the photos children submit to show a chore was completed. These are visible only within your family account.
Subscription information: If you upgrade to a paid plan, we store your plan tier and subscription status. Payments are processed by our payment provider or the app store — we never see or store your full payment card number.
Device and usage data:Basic analytics about how the app is used (such as screens viewed and features used) to help us operate and improve Chorio, and a device push-notification token if you enable notifications, so we can send reminders you've asked for.
Website waitlist: If you join our waitlist on chorio-app.com, we collect the email address (and any details) you provide so we can contact you about early access.
How we use your information
We use your information to create and operate your family account; to run core features like quests, points, streaks, rewards, allowance tracking, and photo proof; to send notifications and reminders you enable; to process and manage subscriptions; to keep your account secure and prevent misuse; and to understand aggregated usage so we can improve the app. We never sell your data, and we never show ads to children.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the vendors necessary to run the service. These vendors are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
- Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure
- Neon — cloud database storage
- Vercel Blob — secure storage for photo-proof images
- Google (Firebase) — app analytics and delivery of push notifications
- Expo — push-notification delivery
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
- Resend — transactional and account email delivery
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. We do not use advertising networks or cross-app tracking, and Chorio does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Data retention & deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your family account and all associated data — including your children's profiles, activity, and photos — at any time from within the app or by emailing hello@chorio-app.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls that limit who can access your data. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, and delete your account and associated data. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what categories of data we collect and the right to non-discrimination for exercising their privacy rights. To exercise any right, email hello@chorio-app.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the app. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
