Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Chorio — pricing, ages and devices, safety, and how it works.
Is Chorio free?
Yes — Chorio is free to start. The free plan covers the core experience: assigning chores as quests, earning points and XP, streaks, and a basic reward store. Optional Family and Family Plus subscriptions unlock higher limits and extra features.
How much do the paid plans cost and what do they include?
Family is $5.99/month (or $50.04/year) and raises limits on kids, chores, and rewards. Family Plus is $9.99/month (or $83.88/year) and adds allowance tracking with payout reminders, photo proof of completed chores, savings goals, and support for shared kids across two households. You can start free and upgrade anytime.
What ages is Chorio for?
Chorio is designed for kids ages 4 to 16. Younger kids enjoy the characters, stars, and simple quests, while older kids respond to levels, streaks, allowance, and savings goals. Parents manage everything from their own account.
What devices does Chorio work on?
Chorio works on iPhone and iPad (iOS and iPadOS). The same family account syncs across devices, so parents and kids can each use their own.
Can I add more than one kid, or use it across two households?
Yes. You can add multiple kids to one family, and Family Plus supports shared kids across two households (for example, co-parents in different homes) so a child's progress stays consistent.
Is Chorio safe for kids?
Yes. Chorio shows no ads to children and never sells your data, and it's built to be COPPA-conscious. Kids sign in with a simple PIN scoped to your family — no email or password required for children — and parents stay in control of chores, rewards, and approvals.
How does Chorio work day to day?
Parents create chores as 'quests' and assign them to kids. When a kid finishes a quest they mark it done (optionally with a photo on Family Plus) to earn points and XP. Points level them up and can be redeemed in the reward store for rewards you set, while daily and weekly streaks keep the momentum going.
What are streaks and streak shields?
A streak counts the days in a row a kid completes their chores, which builds consistent habits. A streak shield protects a streak through one missed day so a single off day doesn't reset all their progress.
How does allowance work?
On Family Plus, you can set an allowance amount and frequency for each kid. Chorio tracks what's due, reminds you when it's time to pay, and lets you mark allowances as paid — so the money side of chores stays organized.
